Yogaia, a haven in the heart of the Eixample

At Yogaia, we share a practice that integrates body, breath and attention, rooted in the path from Hatha Yoga towards Raja Yoga.
Sessions combine physical and energetic work, with space for listening and individual adjustment. Variations of the postures are offered so that everyone can adapt the practice to their current needs and progress safely.
This is the foundation of our Hatha Raja Yoga sessions and is offered through different class formats: more dynamic practices such as Vinyasa, slower-paced practices such as Yin Yoga, and dedicated meditation and Yoga Nidra sessions.
You’ll find us in the heart of Barcelona’s Eixample, in a space of more than 400 m² designed to offer room and calm for your practice.
The 150 m² main studio is arranged in an L shape around an inner garden. This layout keeps nature present throughout the practice, bringing light, quiet and a strong sense of retreat. We also have a 24 m² room for small groups, private sessions or therapies.
The space also includes tiered seating, a shop with practice equipment and changing rooms with showers.
At Yogaia, you’ll find a team committed to supporting you with care, precision and respect for your own pace.
For us, sharing yoga is a form of service: bringing together sensitivity, experience and knowledge of the source teachings to support each practitioner’s process.
We pay attention to every detail so that the practice feels clear, approachable and safe, and so that everyone feels heard. Rather than correcting from the outside, we aim to offer respectful guidance and tools that allow each person to deepen their practice in a way that suits their stage of life.
Mariona Costa is a co-founder of Yogaia and co-director of the teacher training programme, alongside Roger Escolà.
With more than 25 years of practice and teaching, her path is deeply rooted in the Hatha Raja Yoga tradition, inspired by Sri Dharma Mittra and Sri Andrei Ram Om, with whom she has remained connected for many years. A graduate in Philosophy, she brings the study of classical texts, psychology and yoga pedagogy into her teaching. She supports processes of personal transformation with a warm, rigorous and inclusive approach. Her guidance is grounded in listening, respect for each person’s pace and an ability to make the subtler teachings accessible. Over the years, she has trained hundreds of students and teachers, and is known for her calm presence, clarity and authenticity. In 2014, Sri Andrei Ram Om recognised her within the lineage and gave her the Spiritual name: Daya Ma Om.
Roger Escolà is a co-founder of Yogaia and co-director of the teacher training programme, alongside Mariona Costa.
With a background in chemistry, he brings precision and clarity to the practice, guiding students towards an understanding of the subtler aspects of being and energetic anatomy. His path is deeply rooted in Hatha Raja Yoga, and he understands yoga as an enduring process of personal transformation. His calm presence and ability to hold space invite practitioners to become aware of the body and breath, listen inwardly and deepen their experience of the practice. His way of teaching —respectful and direct— places the emphasis on personal experience, allowing the practice itself to reveal the path.
Víctor Domènech is a co-founder of Yogaia and a Hatha Raja Yoga teacher in the lineage of Sri Dharma Mittra and Sri Andrei Ram Om.
He found in yoga a way of life that he has learnt to integrate with a physical disability that has been with him since his youth. This experience has given him a unique perspective, reflected in a style of teaching that is direct, essential and adaptable, always grounded in what is present in each moment.
With a background in Biology and Computing, and an extensive career as a photojournalist in more than forty countries, he has followed a life path shaped by observation, adaptation and an understanding of different realities. His passion for mountaineering, climbing and the mountains is also part of this journey.
Biology, photography, the mountains, conscious eating and spiritual practice have all shaped his understanding of yoga and life as parts of the same balance.
Joan Gimeno is a founding member of Yogaia and has taught yoga since 2007.
A Professor of Singing at the Barcelona Municipal Conservatory of Music, he has built a career in music as a singer of opera, oratorio and lieder. He has also studied theatre, dance and phoniatrics, bringing a broad perspective to the body, voice and expression. He discovered yoga in adolescence and, after years of exploring body-based practices connected with the world of music, deepened his practice through Hatha Raja Yoga, Ashtanga and different forms of Vinyasa. His path is linked to the tradition of Sri Dharma Mittra and Sri Andrei Ram Om, with whom he trained as a teacher. In his classes, he brings these experiences together, combining a dynamic practice with attention to the breath and the body’s energetic awareness. His guidance creates a fluid and attentive practice, centred on listening and on balance between body, mind and breath.
Cossima Weisser began practising yoga in 2019 and found in it a source of calm, introspection and wellbeing.
She completed Yogaia’s 200-hour Hatha Raja Yoga training, followed by the 300-hour course, deepening her understanding of the practice and its effects on anxiety and stress. Along the way, she developed a particular connection with Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra, pursuing further specialist training in both.
In her classes, she creates a space of trust and safety where the practice can adapt to each person. Her guidance seeks to make yoga accessible and support wellbeing through calm and attentive listening.
Laia Vidal trained in Hatha Raja Yoga at Yogaia and in Yin Yoga, a practice that brings together Taoist philosophy and traditional Chinese medicine.
Her sessions are poetic and profound, an invitation to step out of autopilot, turn one’s attention inward and open to the unexpected.
A graduate in Literary Studies with a master’s degree in Communication, she combines her passion for yoga with her work as a bookseller and cultural communicator.
Nina Adams began her yoga journey more than twenty years ago through Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, the style in which she trained and from which she has developed a dynamic and sustained practice.
Nina Adams began her yoga journey more than twenty years ago through Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, the style in which she trained and from which she has developed a dynamic and sustained practice.
She has taught and practised different forms of dynamic yoga, including Rocket Vinyasa, and now combines regular yoga and meditation sessions with training courses and workshops in a range of settings.
She has also trained in astrology, particularly its psychological and cosmobiological approaches, which she naturally weaves into her perspective.
In her classes, she invites students into a vibrant and conscious practice, reconnecting with their own energy and deepening their personal experience.
Soraya is curious and observant, with a desire to learn and share.
She discovered yoga more than 12 years ago at an ashram in the Sivananda tradition. Since then, she has continued her training with Andrei Ram Om (400+ hours) and completed a 200-hour course with Aleix Griñó, focused on Hatha Yoga, alignment and anatomy.
She currently teaches on a master’s programme in fashion, developing programmes centred on innovation and creativity, and is training as a coach in leadership and holistic wellbeing.
In her classes, she combines creative sequences with steady attention to the breath, creating a space where each person can find their own balance.
An architect by profession, Lili Rodríguez is originally from Mexico and began exploring yoga more than ten years ago.
As she discovered its depth, yoga became an essential part of her path. She trained at Yogaia, completing the Yoga Teacher Training in 2016. In her classes, she shares a warm and carefully held practice, attentive to the body, the breath and each person’s experience.
Laura Prieto holds a diploma in Social Work and has devoted much of her career to education and service to others.
She discovered yoga in India more than ten years ago, during an immersion in Ashtanga Yoga in Dharamsala. There, she also encountered Buddhism, a turning point that would deeply shape her path.
Over the years, she has integrated different approaches to yoga, from more dynamic practices to slower forms such as Yin Yoga, always maintaining an open and evolving perspective.
She has trained in Hatha Vinyasa, Yin Yoga and Hatha Raja Yoga with Andrei Ram Om, among other courses, and continues to deepen her meditation practice and her study of Tibetan Buddhist philosophy.
In her classes, she offers a space for conscious practice where body, breath and attention become tools for self-knowledge and personal transformation.
Mattia first encountered traditional Indian yoga at the age of 19, while living in Turin and studying with James Errupakkattu. He came to yoga following an injury and has continued practising ever since, wherever he may be.
Over time, he discovered the benefits of yoga beyond the physical body. For him, every practice is a way of coming home: a space of presence, breath and inner connection.
In 2025, he completed Yogaia’s Hatha Raja Yoga training with Mariona and Roger, and in 2026 began the advanced 300-hour course. He values remaining a student, practising different styles —especially Dharma Yoga— and maintaining a regular prāṇāyāma practice.
After several years of circus practice, his classes also include more dynamic āsanas and invitations to explore and play, always with options so that each person can progress from where they are, without losing sight of the breath and meditation.
His favourite āsanas include Tree Pose and Koundinyāsana.
Mercè discovered yoga around ten years ago, along with the benefits of conscious breathing both in practice and in everyday life.
She trained in Hatha Raja Yoga at Yogaia, a space that has supported her practice over the years.
Trained as an architect and the designer of her own clothing label, writing has always been part of her life. At first it was intimate and personal, and in recent years it has also become professional. Her first novel, Caure al buit, was published by La Magrana in May 2023, followed by her second, Després del mar, in February 2025.

They changed the title today only! Second, it was promised to be in English but it was completely in Spanish asking everyone in Spanish language was okay (not okay if I cannot understand it to agree!). Third, they promised a beginner-friendly class; this class was far from that and more towards advanced!
